A Network of Support

A rich community life creates diverse learning opportunities for St. Peter area youth.  In a variety of settings enthusiastic adults share their expertise with young people- in the classroom, as mentors in business and non-profit service, through career days and other special events, and in volunteer settings.  As a result of these experiences, students develop a network of support that extends beyond their immediate families, one that continues to be a resource as they move on to higher education and into the work force.
Youth-oriented projects receive generous financial support from St. Peter residents.  Individuals and service clubs encourage trips, events and the ongoing improvement of community facilities.  Gustavus Adolphus College, located just one block from St. Peter Middle/High School, serves as a valuable resource for our students.  College resources enrich the curriculum, encourage extended study and broaden student perspectives.  In addition, Gustavus students offer their time and talent to students at all St. Peter school sites through tutoring and mentoring programs, special events, volunteer projects and service learning programs
