Preschool Class

Saint Peter Public Schools offers preschool programs for children ages 3, 4 and 5 years old.

The Saint Peter School Readiness Program reflects the School District's goal to have every child ready for kindergarten. We invite parents and teachers to work together to nurture children as they devleop self-understanding, postitive social skills and build personal confidence.

As a program of Saint Peter Public Schools' Community and Family Education, the Saint Peter School Readiness Program is open to all children regardless of race, nationality, creed or gender. Financial assistance is offered to all qualifying families.

Our Goals are to...
Provide an atmosphere that allows children to develop to their fullest potential.

Encourage children to be respectful and courteous to others.

Provide children with the time and opportunity to experiment, to think and to make decisions.

Our Program
The early years of childhood form the basis for later development and learning. The Saint Peter School Readiness Program fosters social development, creativity, and emotional and physical well being in a caring environment designed to strengthen your child's positive self-image.

Our program is developmentally appropriate to the demands of early childhood and offers attention to the needs and differences of the individual children in the class. We believe a child learns and discovers much about his/her world through play. The environment is child-centered and reflects the children's interests. Children are active, sensory learners and we offer many opportunities for self chosen exploration, social interaction and problem solving.

The creative curriculum helps prepare your child for success in school - and in life. New research on the brain and on learning shows how important the early years are in a child's learning and development. What happens in preschool matters.

Together, at home and at school, we can help your child to...
get along with others
do well in school
become a good leader
solve math problems
speak and write well
be creative
make decisions
develop physical skills
have good study habits
be self-confident and respectful
enjoy learning

All classes are taught by licensed early childhood teachers.
