Mrs. Brezina Mary Nelson

I am a farm girl who moved to the city. I enjoy gardening, being outside, riding horses, deer hunting, reading, sewing, being with my four children and husband, and contributing to the 4-H Club. I went to Moorhead State University and earned a Bachelors of Science Degree in Special Education. I have been a Special Education Teacher for 13 years, mainly working with students who have a Specific Learning Disability or an Other Health Impairment. I teach the basics of reading, writing, and math, along with academic support for some students in the 3rd-6th grade classrooms. I also teach strategies to organize classwork, check assignment notebooks and consult with teachers to meet the needs of a variety of students. My students and I have worked on the garden by the play ground the last few years and it's amazing to watch students learn to grow and take care of plants.

I believe all people can learn- the amount of topics learned is up to the individual and their willingness to get an education. I know that students need to take on the responsibility for their learning and have supportive parents who provide an educationally rich environment, in order for students to reach their highest potential.
