My name is Amanda (McCabe) Rodning and this is my fourth year teaching at St. Peter High School. I have the pleasure of being one of the Special Education teachers where I work with students in grades 10th-12th with Emotional and Behavior Disorders, Specific Learning Disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorders, and Other Health Impairments. In the spring you can also see me out on the softball diamond as the Saints C-squad coach. Aside from teaching and coaching, I will be taking on another role this year as a MOM! My husband and I will welcome our first baby boy into the family this fall and we could not be more excited.
For those of you who do not know me, I was born and raised here in St. Peter, MN. I graduated from SPHS in 2007 and could not be more fortunate to be teaching in the close-knit community that has helped shaped the person I am today. I graduated college from The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire with a double major in Elementary Education and Special Education. On my free time I absolutely love to spend time with my family and travel.
Something I am really looking forward to this year is to continue building a connection with the students so they have a safe and fun learning environment where they are not afraid to be themselves and do their best. I am a huge believer in staying positive and giving your best effort in everything you do in order to achieve success. Helping students build their independent transition skills is something I enjoy doing. I hope to have an all around positive impact on our students' lives and teach them to be self advocates each and every day.
Go Saints! :)
