Jan 19 to the 22

 Students are engaged in the final completion of their required quilt project.  If students are finished with their projects they are required to assist other classmates  to meet the deadline of Jan 22.  The assigned final has been administered in class. All students will be required to comp0lete the final by Jan 22.  Quilts unfinished will have the allowed two weeks to change their incomplete!

Jan 16 to Jan 22

Students will be engaged in the completion of their required comprehensive final.  This is due no latter than Jan 22.

Creative Design students will beging the construction of their required project for the semester.  Each student will work daily on the project untill it is completed.  Task management point are given weekly for the students individual progress.  Every Friday during the first quarter students are assigned a Journal Response.  

Sept. 22 to the 26

Creative Design students will beging the construction of their required project for the semester.  Each student will work daily on the project untill it is completed.  Task management point are given weekly for the students individual progress.  Every Friday during the first quarter students are assigned a Jouranl Response.  The rough draft for the assigned research paper is due at mid-quarter.

Sept. 15

Students will be assigned a storage tray for the semester.  Students will also become aware of the location and necessary tools needed for quilting.  Students will begin to look at quilting books to select a pattern for the required semester project.  Demonstration on the sewing machines will begin.

Sept 16

Students will be introduced to the community service project that the Creative Design class has been a part of since 2006.  The class works collaboratively with an area quilting club called the Eunique Quilters to make a quilt which is raffled off and funds go forwards the All Night Graduation Party.  Last year we contributed close to a $1000.00!  Students will use  independent class time to practice on their sewing machines.

Sept 17

By the end of the class  today students will need to have demonstrated their ability to thread their machine and well as their bobbins.  Practice sewing will commence.  Students will also be able to continue to look for the quilting pattern of their choice which is due by Friday Sept 19!

Sept. 18

Today in class the instructor will be demonstrating proper and safe cutting techniques of fabric!  Students will be required to practice and demonstrate mastery of the required techniques for their projects.  Pressing techniques will also be demonstrated!

Sept 19

Students will be required to cut, and sew a nine square block!  This block must measure 12 by 12 inches and will be evaluated on accuracy, perfect 1/4 of an inch seam allowances, and pressing techniques.  the completed block is due at the end of the day on Monday Sept. 22. 

Sept. 2 to Sept 3

Students will identify  the behavioral expectations and course objectives for the course.  Students are encouraged to inform parents and/or guardians about the expenses to ccomplete the course required project.

Sept. 4 to Sept 5

Students will understand the connections of the past to present day quilting practices.  Students will also understand the quilt pattern block assembly.  If time permits we will explore the role of color.  Sept. 20 I will contribute a Sat. morning to help students select required materials for their quilt.  We will meet at Handcock Fabrics in Mankato any where from 9 to 100.
