Lesson Plans
March 9 to 13 Students will focus on healthy pregnancy, stages of labor, birth defects, fetal alcohol syndrome, postnal period, and examination of the new born. Lecture, videos, small group discussion, study guide work time.
March 2 to 6 Students will focus on the forty weeks of prenatal development, problems of prenatal development, and avoiding environmental hazards. Lecture, videos, small group work and quizzes.
Feb-17 to Feb 20
Students will continue to work on Unit 1, Chapters 1 to 4.
Unit 1 test will be given on 2-19-09
All Unit 1 work will be due and collected.
Objectives:
AStudentwill be able to identify various types of day care.
Students will discuss how teens approah decisions about sexual activity.
Students will explain how teen pregnancy can be prevented.
Feb. 9 to Feb 13
Feb 9 Students will explain the importance of family and identify the various types of families.
Feb 10 Students will
Feb. 2 to Feb 6 Intense study of five major theorists. Group research, development of a power point presntation, preseantation due on Thursday with a final video review of the role of fheory in child development.
Jan 26 to Jan 30
Introduction to course requirements, classroom routine, and classroom procedures.
Lecture, individual and group activities promoting discussion on attitudes toward children and identifying the benefits of studying children. A variety of student motivating activities to engage students in the critical thinking process.
Students will compare childhood in the past and in the present
Describe five characteristics of development.
Explain the influences on development.
Review the required accumulative case file assignment.
Unit 1 Study Guide has been assigned and will be due when the final assessment is taken.
