Welcome to Adv. Algebra I
Course Description:
This course will challenge students through the introduction and development of new algebraic skills such as factoring, simplifying rational expressions, simplifying square roots, solving complex word problems, and integrating graphing into problem solving. Since this is an advanced course, a faster pace and more complex problems can be expected.
Guidelines for Registration:
Students who enroll in this course should:
- high scores on standardized tests (MAP, MCA),
- solid classroom performance in previous mathematics courses, and
- be willing to complete daily assignments in a timely manner.
Average out-of-class work expectations for this course are 30-40 minutes per day.
Note: 8th graders earn an elective credit for successful completion of the course.
