Ms. Gayle Derner
Hello, my name is Gayle Derner. I am a hometown girl who has been involved in the St. Peter School District since 1984. I have worked at the Regional Treatment Center and the Hoffmann Learning Center as a para, and for the past 13 years as a full-time Special Education teacher at the St. Peter High School. I received my Bachelor's Degree in Social Studies with a concentration in sociology, and a Master's Degree in Special Education from Mankato State University. I am also a Nationally Board Certified Exceptional Needs Specialist in Early Childhood to Young Adulthood.
I work with Learning Disabled and Emotional/Behavioral students in grades 10-12 in a resource room setting. I have coached volleyball, golf, adaptive bowling, and am the Freshmen class advisor. I enjoy teaching and working with the students very much! Together we work to be lifelong learners who are commited to being productive citizens.
