Family and Consumer Science Teacher

I've been teaching at SPHS since 1979. Along with teaching I have coached tennis at the middle school level. I am the family and consumer science department chairperson.

I earned my Bachelor's Degree at Minnesota State University - Mankato and my Master's Degree in Teaching and Learning from St. Mary's University in 2002.

Teaching is the most challenging and most rewarding profession there is or ever will be. I wear my subject like a favorite coat or sweater; the students see a life lived with purpose, meaning and passion. When the spirit of the teacher connects with the spirit of the students, the best of the student surfaces and thrives.

I have three children who have all graduated from SPHS. In my spare time I enjoy reading, knitting, sewing, biking, scrapbooking and spending time with my family.
