Homework: Daily assignments will be the norm. Showing work will be required on all problems which demand several steps. All assignments are due the following day unless otherwise instructed. Students will have a short time to ask questions and get group support before the assignment is corrected. If students are struggling with the majority of questions they should seek extra help. The math resource room is a great place to get assistance during study hall.
Tests and Quizzes: Students can expect 1 to 2 quizzes per chapter and a final chapter exam every two or three weeks.
Grading: 50% Tests and Quizzes
30% Homework
20% Class Participation
Required Material: Students will need a notebook, folder, scientific calculator, pencils, and erasers. Potractors and Compasses will be used occasionally in class and students may need them at home to complete homework that they do not complete in class.
Behavior Expectations: All students are expected to behave in a respectful manner towards fellow students and teachers. Should a student cause disruption to the learning environment, appropriate action will be taken. This may include removal from class and office interventions. Parents will be notified if these actions are necessary.
