Eighth grade science is the final year of the three-year sequence of middle school science. Students take the MCA II test in the spring over the material that is taught in grades six, seven, and eight. Sixth grade is responsible for the physical science component while the Earth and life science components are split between seventh and eighth grades.
As a transition to high school, students are expected to take responsibility for their actions. Task management skills such completion of assignments on time, taking effective notes, working cooperatively with others, and actively participating in their own education are a high priority
