North Intermediate

In Spelling we will be taking our pre-tests on Mondays and post-tests will be given on Fridays. Each week your child will be required to complete 3 of the 18 activities on the spelling contract. Please sign and return the contract every Friday. The contract is underneath this area.

Spelling Contract
Activities

1. Write the spelling words ten times each.
2. Alphabetize your spelling words.
3. Look in the dictionary to find the page number of each of
your spelling words.
4. Write down the definitions of your spelling words.
5. Write the part of speech of your spelling words.
6. Use at least ten of your spelling words to create a song or poem.
7. Use each spelling word in a sentence.
8. Write synonyms or antonyms of each spelling word.
9. Make a word search using your spelling words.
10. Make a crossword using your spelling words.
11. Make a missing vowel puzzle using your spelling words.
12. Make a missing consonant puzzle using your spelling words.
13. Make up a code for someone else to decode using your spelling words.
14. Make up riddles for your words.
15. Type your words (3 times) on a computer and print them out.
16. Study your words nightly with a parent, brother or sister.
17. Write your spelling word and write a rhyming word.
18.      Other? Ask first please.

A minimum of three of these activities are to be completed by the Spelling
Post-Test.You can do more than three for extra credit. A good site for you
to make puzzles and word searches is http://www.puzzlemaker.com. Please show
your parents the 3 completed tasks and have them sign at the bottom to
receive credit for your contract. You can also e-mail me your homework. My e-
