Frequently Asked Questions
This referendum would be replacing the existing 10-year operating referendum that is set to expire at the end of 2021. The purpose of the referendum is to seek approval from the voters for a $410 per pupil operating referendum. If the voters approve this referendum, the District will begin receiving approximately $550,000 in additional funding per year starting in the 2022-23 school year.
WHAT HAPPENS IF IT DOESN'T PASS?
The district would need to reduce the budget by about $450,000. This would affect our ability to maintain programming, class sizes, and additional supports for students.
WHAT WILL THE TAX DOLLARS BE USED FOR?
Our students have access to enhanced programming from preschool through graduation. Lower class sizes, specialists at the elementary level, a variety of elective courses including career and technology education options are important to helping all of our students reach their educational goals. These opportunities are made available through our current operating referendum. With increasing costs, increased enrollment, and State and Federal funding lagging behind, additional funding is needed to continue to provide students with the wide variety of programs and courses available to them.
HOW MUCH WILL THIS COST?
