North Elementary will see some current staff members taking on new roles in the fall of 2026. Principal Darin Doherty recently announced the following staff changes for the upcoming school year.
* Mandy Kennedy, who has served as North’s social worker since 2021, will move to the newly-created North Elementary Dean of Students position.
“As needs have evolved, a support role was shifted to Dean of Students role to assist with managing building systems and behavior tracking,” Kennedy said. “I am excited and honored to continue working with our student support team in more of a leadership role!"
* Corie Walters was recently named as North’s new academic interventionist. Walters began her educational career with the Saint Peter School District at South Elementary in 2003 and has been at North since 2017 teaching second grade.
"Teaching reading has always been one of my favorite parts of the day,” Walters said. “After 27 years in the classroom, I am looking forward to this new position."
