Students in Mrs. Panitzke’s fifth grade social studies classes have been studying about the American Revolution, and they had a celebration day on Thursday to mark the occasion where the students were challenged to wear red, white, and blue clothing.
“For those that wore red, white, and blue, there was a surprise for them – glow sticks,” Mrs. Panitzke said. “We also watched the last episode of a series called Liberty’s Kids. Then we played a Bingo game about the Revolution and topped it off with freezer pops!”
Mrs. Panitzke added, “I love this age because it’s so easy to get them 'fired up' about things both old and new, simply by making it a theme-based day.” One student put it this way, “It’s so amazing seeing history come to life!” Well said, Jackson Simonette!
