The 2023 Saint Peter High School Pops Choir Concert and Fundraiser, ‘On Broadway!’ is set for Wednesday, May 17 at the Performing Arts Center. This year, a choir fundraiser will begin at 5:30 p.m. in the commons area. The concert will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the auditorium, with a special senior recognition ceremony happening at 7:15 p.m.
There will be an admission cost of $5 (students & children are FREE), and those funds will go directly to the SPHS Choir. Cash or check will be accepted. (PLEASE NOTE: It was originally reported that credit/debit cards would be accepted, but that has changed and they will not be accepted at Wednesday evening's concert.)
A choir fundraiser, preceding the event, will be held in the SPHS Commons starting at 5:30 p.m. There will be a silent auction, concessions and open mic performances. Some auction items include tickets to Chanhassen Theater tickets, Moon Dogs tickets, MSU tickets, Minnesota State Fair tickets, Kwik Trip coupons, baskets from downtown businesses and more.
All proceeds will go directly to the SPHS Choir Program to support our students in auditioning for honor choirs, festivals and bringing in world-renowned musicians and directors to work with our students next year.
“This year alone, our choirs had the privilege of working with Grammy-nominated gospel artist Trey McLaughlin and had our first annual Treble Festival with Dr. Angela Kasper from Western Washington University,” Bergstrom said. “We had 39 students participate in our new Solo/Ensemble Workshop with three professional voice teachers and performers. More than 50 7th-10th grade students auditioned for Minnesota Honor Choirs and we had seven students accepted. This year three juniors were also accepted into the 2023-2024 Minnesota All State Choir: Brenden Larson, Henry Jacobs and Grace Tollefson.
