This year marks the 29th year that Saint Peter High School's Building Trades class is involved with the construction of a house for Habitat for Humanity of South Central Minnesota. SPHS building trades instructor Scott Robinson leads the group, with the help of Habitat for Humanity volunteers.
This week, students were involved in the foundation work which included installing the concrete forms and eventually pouring concrete into the forms. Here are some photos of the foundation work taking place on Monday and Thursday of this week. Special thanks to Lizzie Horton, SPPS communications intern, for her help in taking the photos!
The collaboration between Habitat for Humanity and the SPHS Building Trades class allows high schoolers to get hands-on building experience and an opportunity to participate in a project that has a lifelong impact on a Habitat family and the community.
Special thanks for Lizzie Horton, SPHS communications intern, for taking the photos used with this story.
