Several Saint Peter High School FFA members traveled to Arlington on October 18th to compete in one of several Region VII CDE contests and events that took place that day.
Among the CDE (Career Development Events) teams competing included the Horse Evaluation, Dairy Handler, and Livestock Evaluation teams. Highlighting those competitors includes sophomore Lydia Yost placing fourth in the Dairy Handler competition and earning a trip to the state contest in April 2024. Those SPHS FFA team members competing at the region contest included:
Livestock team – Tucker Nimps, Riley Kisor, and Max Brown
Horse team – Ana Stoffregen (13th individual), Alison Hanson, and Kendra Johnson
Dairy team - Kenna Holtz, and Lydia Yost (4th individual, state bound)
There was also a Region VII Greenhand Day, which was put on by the Region VII officers. Those participants do activities to get new members familiar with FFA and most times a service project. SPHS FFA members taking part in Greenhand Day included Alex Mueller, Braelin Weber, Sarah Cook, Olivia Schumann, Claire Weber, and Brody Whipps.
