Cari Panitzke - SPMS teacher & author

Saint Peter Middle School fifth grade social studies teacher, Cari Panitzke, recently released her second book, titled, “Random Facts for Adults Made Simple.” The book is a collection of useful facts on a variety of topics, including geography, popular culture, travel, and literature –  to name a few.

The collection is designed to be read in parts. “Random Facts” is the non-fiction equivalent of a “Choose-Your-Own-Adventure,” with many different avenues of interest that can be explored at any time. To prepare for the upcoming summer break, Panitzke recommends checking out the travel and geography sections!

“It would be great if readers became inspired to travel to some of the places mentioned [in the book], or to learn more about different cultures,” Panitzke said. Indeed, Panitzke’s writing is not only inspirational and educational, but also reflective of what it means to be a lifelong learner. According to Panitzke, “we are all lifelong learners, and my hope is that readers will enjoy their time reading this book.”

For Panitzke, writing and publishing “Random Facts” was an exciting experience in its own right. She was initially intrigued by the idea of publishing a trivia fact book in tandem with her role as a teacher. “I thought [the topic] would be well received coming from a teacher,” she said.

Panitzke also drew upon her personal interests, including new technological software and Artificial Intelligence to help outline and structure her book.
