South playground equipment

Students at South Elementary will have several new options on the school’s playground with a recent purchase of some new equipment. The funding for the new equipment comes from the Star Pride fund which is supported by the South Read-A-Thon that was held in February, according to Cindy Bruce, South’s behavior interventionist.

The new playground stations at South include two kitchens, one flower planting station and one science station with magnets or magnifying glasses to explore. There is also a new disc golf net which was donated by Marlene Barffknecht, South’s attendance clerk.

South also recently added three new sand boxes, but they have been out a little longer (since late winter) than the kitchens because they were built first, according to Bruce.

Above and below are some photos of the new playground equipment at South being put to good use!
