A new leader for Saint Peter Middle School begins their new duties on July 1, as Jessica Buttell was recently announced as the new Principal for that building, pending school board approval. Buttell replaces Dr. Jon Graff, who will take over as Saint Peter Superintendent of Schools this summer.
“I am truly honored to step into the role of Principal at Saint Peter Middle School,” Buttell said. “I look forward to building strong relationships with students, staff, families, and the greater community as we work together to support student growth, foster a culture of belonging, and celebrate the unique strengths of each learner.”
Buttell currently serves as assistant principal at Dakota Meadows Middle School, which is part of the Mankato Area Public Schools system. Her background includes 14 years in public education and in addition to her assistant principal position at Dakota Meadows, she has served as dean of students and a special education teacher.
“We are excited to welcome Jessica Buttell to the position,” Dr. Graff said. “Jessica rose to the top of the list of incredible candidates because of her proven leadership, experience, and knowledge of and passion for middle level education.
“We are excited to welcome Jessica into the Saints Learning Community,” Graff added.
