Eleven Saint Peter FFA Members were able to make the trek to the Minnesota State FFA Convention held at the University of Minnesota in late April.
The Saint Peter’s FFA horse team qualified for the state competition earlier this school year and were excited to compete again at the state level. The horse team, comprised of Ana Stoffregen, Lucy Tauer, Lydia Yost, and Alison Hanson, competed on Monday, April 28th. They finished in 35th place out of 60 teams. Individually, Ana Stoffregen placed 36th, Lucy Tauer placed 95th, Lydia Yost placed 169th, and Alison Hanson placed 176th.
While in Minneapolis, they visited Target Field to get a tour of the facility! The FFA members who did not participate in horse judging had the opportunity to explore the career fair held at the State Fairgrounds and the Como Zoo. Additionally, all members attended two educational sessions and cheered on other schools from our region as they took the stage to receive their awards.
Overall, the Minnesota State FFA convention provided a valuable experience for the Saint Peter FFA Members, combining competition, learning, and bonding experiences. They are looking forward to next year!
