Habitat for Humanity groundbreaking

Partnership between South Central MN Habitat for Humanity & SPHS reaches 31st year!

Habitat for Humanity of South Central Minnesota hosted a groundbreaking ceremony on August 29 at the Traverse Green Subdivision in St. Peter for the newest home that will be built in St. Peter by that organization. The newest home will be constructed for St. Peter resident Lisa Miller and her three children.

For the 31st year, Saint Peter High School Building Trades' students will help a big part of the construction project. The collaboration between Habitat for Humanity and the SPHS Building Trades class allows for high schoolers to get hands-on building experience and an opportunity to participate in a project that has a lifelong impact on a Habitat family and the community.

Scott Robinson, SPHS Building Trades teacher, represented the school district at the groundbreaking ceremony. All three of Lisa Miller’s children (Esabella, Clyde, and Olivia) attend Saint Peter Public Schools!
