Tipi Painting event

Saint Peter Public Schools’ Native American Parent Advisory Committee (NAPAC) hosted a Tipi Painting event the weekend of Dec. 12-13 at the Saint Peter Middle School small gym, and the two-day event was deemed a success by organizers!

“Our students and community came together to paint the tipi,” Charmayne Klah, NAPAC committee member said. “The tipi was painted to help tell stories, show spiritual beliefs and signify Saint Peter Native American Education connection to the world.

“With the help of Steven Tamayo, senior Shayla Secatero artistic designs, NAPAC members and the Native American families came together sharing cultural teachings, importance of tradition and connecting all Native American representation within Saint Peter School District.”

Above and below are some photo highlights of the tipi painting in progress this past weekend at the SPMS small gym!
