With warmer weather right around the corner, we are looking forward to an exciting summer of construction improvements stemming from our Mend the Middle building bond referendum.
Residents approved this $10.965 million project in April 2024 to improve Saint Peter Middle School. Along with an important indoor air quality project, Phase 1 was completed last summer, with Phase 2 improvements planned for this summer, including:
● Classroom and corridor improvements: Installing new ceilings, flooring, and walls, refreshing paint on existing walls and lockers, and adding storage cubbies and built-in upholstered benches throughout the hallways. Improvements will take place in the media center, computer labs, band and choir rooms, the main gymnasium, auditorium, cafeteria, and more than 25 classrooms, conference rooms, and offices.
● Improved accessibility: Adding a new elevator along the east side of the main gymnasium to improve accessibility throughout the building.
● Mechanical work: Installing mechanical equipment in various areas of the building to support overall air quality and building system efficiency.
● Electrical work: Replacing panels and additional electrical equipment in various areas of the building to support overall system efficiency.
We are excited to see various spaces of our middle school transformed and to welcome students and staff back into our building this fall. Thank you for your support of Saint Peter Public Schools!
