NAPAC Shoe game

The Native American Parent Advisory Committee (NAPAC) held a special cultural event this week to teach everyone to play The Shoe Game. This event kicked off the official Winter Celebration from the Navajo Southwest Native American tribe called  “Késhjee'”.

This sacred Navajo ceremony tells and shows the story of how the cycle of day and night came to be. This tradition teaches teamwork, good sportsmanship, problem solving and strengthens communal bonds between players.

A large group of students attended from the Hikmah Center and it was a great success.  If you'd like more information on NAPAC or how you could get involved, contact organizer Charmayne Klah at cklah@stpeterschools.org.
