Bellas at Gustavus

Members of Saint Peter High School’s Bellas ensemble participated in the Vox Lucia treble workshop on Monday at Gustavus Adolphus College. Director Bri Bergstrom accompanied the Bellas to Gustavus for the event, which featured Dr. Jennaya Robison, artistic director for the National Lutheran Choir, based in Minneapolis.

Other high school ensembles attending the Vox Lucia event, in addition to SPHS, were from high schools in Eagan, Owatonna, Chanhassen, Mounds View, and Milaca.

The Vox Lucia Vocal Festival for Leadership & Singing at Gustavus is a one-day event for high school soprano and alto singers to explore leadership through choral music. Featuring performances by the Lucia Singers and Kaleidoscope, the festival includes expert-led sessions on leadership, composing, and music, often featuring renowned artists-in-residence.

The event concluded with a late-afternoon concert at Gustavus’s Christ Chapel which featured Gustavus’s Lucia Singers (soprano/alto auditioned group), Kaleidoscope Acapella (soprano/alto acapella), and the Gustavus Choir (mixed auditioned group).

Above and below are some photo highlights from the Vox Lucia workshop! Special thanks to Chelsea Klaphake, SPPS’s communications intern, for her help in covering this event!
