MN West Community College women's basketball team - national D3 champs

Congrats to Saint Peter High School alum and former Saints’ basketball standout Maddie Kamm (2024 SPHS grad), who was a starting guard for the Minnesota West Bluejays’ women’s basketball team which won the National Junior College Athletic Association’s Division III national title over the weekend in Brownwood, Texas.

Kamm and her Bluejay teammates knocked off Anoka-Ramsey (MN) 51-41 in the championship game on Saturday. The former Saints’ standout only scored two points in the title game, but pulled down eight boards to go with team-high eight assists for the national champs.

Kamm had a strong game in the semifinal round as Minnesota West down Fulton-Montgomery Community College (NY) 68-57 with Kamm recording a double-double of 10 points and 11 boards. This followed up Kamm’s stellar quarterfinal round of eight points, 14 boards, and eight assists in the Bluejays 81-67 win over Onondaga Community College (NY) on Thursday.

Kamm was named to the NJCAA D3 All-Tournament Team and, for the season, was named a first-teamer on the Minnesota College Athletic All Conference team. The former Saint finished the season averaging 9.4 points per game, 5.8 rebounds per game, and 6.3 assists per contest during her last season with the Bluejays.
