SPPS new staff for 2026-27

New staff at Saint Peter Public Schools for the 2026-27 school year took part in two days of workshops earlier this week. Current teaching staff who led this year’s new staff workshop included Kris Voeltz (SPHS), Stephanie Evans (SPMS), Jordyn Jarr (North Elementary), Tressa Gruenzner (South Elementary), and Deb Wenner (Oshawa Learning Academy).

The new staff were also treated to the annual New Teacher Breakfast at the SPHS commons area. The breakfast was sponsored by the St. Peter Chamber of Commerce, Minnesota School Board Association, State Farm (Jay Zender), West & Mager Insurance and Financial Services, and Crest Martial Arts Academy.

Most of these new staff members are replacing previous staff who either retired or moved on to different jobs outside of SPPS. Workshops for the entire SPPS staff begins on Monday (Aug. 31) with classes for the SPHS starting on Tuesday, Sept. 8, and the remaining students beginning classes on Thursday, Sept. 10.

Samantha Funk (Speech Language Pathologist, shared with North and South)

SAINT PETER MIDDLE SCHOOL
Jacob Goebl (Special Education teacher)

NORTH ELEMENTARY
Liz Cosgrove (2nd grade Teacher)
Makena Rohlfing (School Social Worker)

SOUTH ELEMENTARY
Makena Dammer (School Counselor substitute)

OSHAWA LEARNING ACADEMY (HOFFMANN CENTER)
Beth Day (Grade 4-6 Teacher)
Karla Johnson (Special Education teacher)
