SPHS SAINTS OF THE WEEK - Congrats to SPHS senior Joe Connor, junior Addison Sanchez, sophomore Elijah Yost, and freshman Wyatt Brown for being named Saint Peter High School's Saints of the Week. The SPHS staff recognized those four for showing respect, acting responsibly, and living with integrity!

The Saints’ boys racked up their third straight Big South team title with senior Owen Matejcek earning back-to-back overall individual conference champion honors after the four-meet series (three regular season Big South events plus the conference championship meet). Freshman Isaiah Homrighausen won Tuesday’s finale with an 18-round score of 77, with Matejcek right behind with a 78. Those two, along with teammates Ethan Moreau and Kade Mata, were named All-Big South for their efforts this spring.
“The wind was the worst I have ever seen, but our kids stayed mentally tough, composed and focused on the controllables,” Saints’ mentor Neil Doose said. “I’m so proud of their positive attitudes in those conditions. Only 13 golfers below 90 on Tuesday, and we had five of them, including two of our kids in the 70s. It was a good day to have a great day!
The Saints’ varsity girls, coached by Kris Voeltz, also had a good showing during Monday morning’s Big South Championship event at Dacotah Ridge. St. Peter placed fifth after Monday’s results were in and had two golfers, Ashlyn Loula and Natalie Salfer, eventually earn All-Big South honors.
