SPMS FIFTH-GRADE BAND DEMOS - Saint Peter High School and Middle School band director Dave Haugh is hosting band demonstration sessions this week for fifth-grade students interested in playing a musical instrument. Several SPHS band students were also on hand to share their band backgrounds and demonstrate some of the instruments for the prospective band students. 2025 SPPS STAFF RECOGNITION - Saint Peter Public Schools hosted its annual Staff Recognition Reception on Wednesday afternoon at the SPHS Commons. This is the event where school officials honor the Distinguished Service Award winners, those staff members retiring at the end of the school year, and those who have achieved 25 years of service.
This year's honorees include:
Distinguished Service Award: Dr. Jeff Olson (Saint Peter Interim Superintendent and long-time past SPPS administrator, teacher, and coach) and Nickl Rozsa (long-time North Elementary media center support, para, and kitchen support).
Retirees: SPHS - Kris Glidden (PE/Health teacher), Kelly Jensen (SPHS social worker), George Schoenborn (Business Ed teacher), and Christa Herr (paraprofessional); North Elementary - Mike Keller (Custodian) and Nick Rozsa (Support staff); and South Elementary - Heidi Wenner (Kindergarten teacher), Ann Braun (paraprofessional), and Barb Franchino (paraprofessional).
25-years of Service - SPHS - Kurt Moelter (Math teacher); SPMS - Connie Brezina (Special Education); Early Childhood - Helen Hager (paraprofessional).
Before the reception, several members of the SPHS Concert Choir entertained the large crowd with some vocal selections.

ROLL'N FOR LANDON EVENT INFO - The Saint Peter High School FFA chapter's annual Roll-N for Landon event is set for Saturday, May 10, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event will include the auto show, meal, raffle, silent auction, and games. See the accompanying poster for more details!

SPHS SAINTS OF THE WEEK — Congrats to SPHS students Wyatt Holtz (12th grade), Vivian Christenson (11th), Corvin Travaille (10th), and Timmy Culuris (9th) for being named the most recent Saint Peter High School Saints of the Week!

SPHS/SPMS BAND CONCERT INFO - Saint Peter Middle School (grades 6-8) and Saint Peter High School (grades 9-12) bands will perform during their annual Spring Band Concert on Wednesday evening at the SPHS Performing Arts Center. The director for both concerts is Dave Haugh.
The SPMS bands kick things off at 6 p.m. with the sixth graders followed by the seventh grade band, and the eighth graders will wrap up the middle school concert.
The SPHS Spring Concert theme this year is "The Soul of Summer" and begins at 7:30 p.m. According to Haugh, the concert opens with the Jazz Band which will feature soul music. The Varsity Band (gr. 9-10) hits the PAC stage next, followed by the SPHS Concert Band (gr. 11-12) before the two bands combine for one piece in the finale.
“The two concert bands are playing some more popular style music, including music from How to Train Your Dragon, and featuring music from the movie composer Hans Zimmer,” Haugh said.
ADAPTED BOWLING STATE QUALIFIER INFO - Good luck to the Minnesota River Strike Force adapted bowling team as they head to the Wow Zone in Mankato on Thursday morning to compete at the State Qualifying Tournament.
Singles action gets underway at 10 a.m. while the doubles competition is slated for 1 p.m. Coaches for the team include Kris Voeltz and Keith Bense. Members of the 2025 Minnesota River Strike Force team include the following:
