NORTH ELEMENTARY BIKE SAFETY TRAINING - Mr. Bass, North Elementary's physical education teacher, is taking advantage of the unseasonably mild weather this week to teach the students in grades 2-4 about bike safety/etiquette and make the most of their biking experiences. He is shown here working with Ms. Walters' second-grade class on bike safety and etiquette.
These bike safety classes matchup well with Wednesday's (Oct. 9) Bike & Walk to School Day at North where students are encouraged to bike or walk to school that morning to start the day!

According to Mandy Kennedy, North Elementary’s social worker, the Elks donated large quantities of snacks to North to help supplement those who are unable to provide their own snack each day. The Elks also donated a $300 gift card, some much needed winter gear for kids, and additional school supplies to share within the district.
“The Mankato Elks Lodges really came through for us again after hearing we did not have a snack cart this year (at North Elementary),” Kennedy said. “ We are also very thankful for the other donations which will be used as needed with all of our school buildings in the district.”
